Winners of the High School Poetry Contest performed a recital in Caracas

The winners shared moving reflections on the power of words and poetry as a comfort and transformative force

In the spaces of the Casa Nacional de las Letras Andrés Bello, in Caracas, the poetry recital of the winners of the II National High School Poetry Contest “Reynaldo Pérez So” was held, as part of the previous activities of the 19th World Poetry Festival of Venezuela.

During the meeting, the young winners: Sebastián Mendoza, Angelis Granadillo, Nicole Rojas, Alana Guzmán, Salvador Andrés Tiberi and Yusdeibi Rodríguez, received their awards on a day that exalted the country's cultural richness and plurality.

The winners shared moving reflections on the power of words and poetry as a comfort and transformative force.

In addition, the winning students will enjoy a literary program that will run until July 20 in different spaces in Caracas, in order to bring these young people closer to new poetic experiences.

This event is organized by the Sectorial Vice Presidency of Communication and Culture, the Ministry of Popular Power for Education and the “Juan Calzadilla” National School of Poetry, with the purpose of continuing to build spaces that train and promote new literary authors in Venezuela.
