The National Pantheon in Caracas was the scene of the raising of the National Flag, on the occasion of the commemoration on July 5, of the 241st Anniversary of the Signing of the Act of the Declaration of Independence of Venezuela and Day of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).
The National Flag was raised by the cadets of the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela, in the morning hours of this Saturday, when the notes of the National Anthem were sung, at the ceremony and wreath before the sarcophagus of the Father of the Fatherland, Simon Bolivar.
The event, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, was led by the Sectorial Vice President of Defense and Sovereignty and Minister of Popular Power for Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López and was attended by the commander of the Strategic Operational Command (CEO-FANB), G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, among other authorities.
At the beginning of the event, Padrino López praised the legacy of El Libertador Simón Bolívar and his tireless fight for the sovereignty and absolute independence of Venezuela. “The liberator Simon Bolivar is the guiding beacon of the Bolivarian Revolution,” he said.
He ratified that the FANB has the mission of safeguarding and guaranteeing national territorial independence, as established by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
“Long live world peace, long live peace in Venezuela, long live the Homeland and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces,” he said.
