The Queen of Triple Jumping, Yulimar Rojas, returned to Venezuela to compete after 10 years and won the gold medal in the event of her specialty, in the third stop of the National Athletics League.

“Returning to competing in Venezuela after 10 years was something my heart was asking for. At the Brigida lriarte Stadium in Caracas, I revived that girl who dreamed of flying far away and who started here with a goal,” Rojas said in a post on her Instagram account.

He also said that jumping in front of his people is priceless. “Every applause, every scream, every look of support filled me with energy. After two very hard years, coming back and feeling so much love makes me believe that everything was worth it,” he said.

“Thanks to everyone who didn't stop believing in me. Thank God, my family, my team and everyone who accompanied me in the stands. This is a dream for me, thank you for making it possible,” he added.

The world record holder and Olympic champion with a championship record at the Tokyo 2020 Games, said that the National League is a great boost for athletics and she is proud to be part of it.

“Let's continue to support the new generation, because Venezuela has talent and a future. Today I celebrate my return and this reunion, with the certainty that you can always dream higher,” he added

In the 3rd stop of the National Athletics League, which took place at the facilities of the legendary Brígida Iriarte National Olympic Stadium in El Paraíso, the 29-year-old athlete completed a distance of 13.85 meters in her first jump, while the second was invalidated by the judges.

Rojas ruled the competition with jumps of 14.38 and 14.24 to place first in the competition, ahead of Orneliz Ortiz and Oriana Carpio, respectively.

“I needed to go back to a championship, hang a medal on my chest in my country,” Rojas said after the award ceremony.
