On the occasion of his official visit to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe, Frederick Musiiwa Makamure Shava, paid honors this Thursday before the sarcophagus of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, in Caracas, through a wreath ceremony.
The protocol ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister for Africa of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yuri Pimentel; the Zimbabwean delegation and the diplomatic corps accredited in the country.
In the National Pantheon, the authorities signed the guestbook to the Mausoleum that houses the mortal remains of the Father of the Fatherland.
During his stay in the country, the senior African diplomat has held meetings with Venezuelan authorities to strengthen ties of friendship and collaboration, in addition to setting up the First Joint Commission for Binational Cooperation.
Both nations established diplomatic relations on April 7, 1987, which were boosted by the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, first with Commander Hugo Chávez and complemented by President Nicolás Maduro Moros, with the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace.
