148 deaths are recorded due to the wreck of a ferry in the Congo

This Saturday, after the wreck of a ferry in the city of Mbandaka, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, it was announced that the death toll so far is 148 people.

The local press warned that there is a high percentage of people missing, following the incident that occurred this Friday in which a wooden motorized boat caught fire and capsized.

Authorities confirm that the boat was carrying up to 500 passengers, the number of deaths due to the wreck of the ferry in the Congo are added to other incidents of this type that occur in that country.

At the end of last year, in another incident, at least 22 people died after a boat wrecked in December in the west of the country.
