The National University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán opened its doors this Monday to begin the academic period 2025-2026, with the reception of more than 600 students who will be trained in the area of science and technology.
The information was released by the rector of the study house, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, who indicated that the rest of the enrollment will be paid soon. “On November 17, the rest of the student enrollment will be incorporated, reaching 1,807 high school graduates, who chose this house of studies to continue their academic training,” said the Minister for Science and Technology.
According to a MINCYT press release, he recalled that at the National University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán, young people will be able to train in key areas such as philosophy, mathematics, molecular science, artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, among others.
“There are 16 careers at the service of Venezuelan youth, oriented to the country's scientific and technological development, which also strengthen the 13 Engines of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda and the Organic Law of the Plan of the Seven Transformations,” he said.
The minister stated that, at the moment, science is a disputed territory and that, in different countries, it does not generate direct benefits to the people, unlike Venezuela, which, with the help of President Nicolás Maduro, is building a scientific agency for life and aimed at development.
“Faced with this, from the Bolivarian Government led by President Nicolás Maduro, we are building a scientific agenda for life, aimed at development, the integration of all sectors of the country and the promotion of the beauty of thought, creation and national scientific culture,” added the also Sectorial Vice President of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health.
