ALBA-TCP welcomes Venezuela's action in response to Edmundo González's request for political asylum

The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), this Monday, September 09, issued a statement in which they salute the actions of the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, in response to the request for political asylum before the Kingdom of Spain, submitted by the former presidential candidate of the Venezuelan extreme right, Edmundo González Urrutia, and which was completed this 07 of September 2024.

The information was released by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, who published this statement on his account of the social network Telegam.

In the letter, he states that the ALBA-TCP “applauds this democratic act, in strict accordance with the rules of international law, which is an unequivocal demonstration of the genuine interest of the Venezuelan government in guaranteeing the peace and tranquility of the Venezuelan people.”
