The deputies to the National Assembly (AN) approved this Thursday, by qualified majority, the Law on the Establishment of the International Mediation Organization.
This legal instrument, which must be submitted to the Executive for enactment, allows our country to join this organization whose objective is to promote the peaceful resolution of international conflicts, in addition to strengthening cooperation and understanding between nations through mediation processes.
After the approval, in the second discussion of this Law, the President of the Parliament, Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, assured that with the entry of Venezuela into this body, a process should be initiated for its removal from all the “instruments of North American imperialism” to supposedly defend human rights.
“It is shameful to see how the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (Volker Türk) has said nothing about the 252 Venezuelans kidnapped by the criminal of Nayib Bukele in El Salvador. A blind eye has been turned to one of the greatest crimes committed against humanity, more than 72,000 dead in Gaza, and no one has come out to defend human life,” he said.
In this regard, he ironized that Volker Türk should be called the “United Nations Low Commissioner for Human Rights”, because he had no moral courage to hold that position. “Let the low commissioner stay with his masters talking at the cocktail parties they usually attend,” he emphasized.
