Venezuelan sports authorities receive at the Simón Bolívar International Airport” in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, the Venezuelan delegation that won the VII Central American and Caribbean School Sports Games Córdoba 2025.

The Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, highlighted the outstanding performance of the Venezuelan delegation that participated in the sporting event. “Of 157 athletes who attended the event, 152 won medals; this shows an effectiveness of 94%, a historic fact for Venezuelan sports,” he said.

The minister sent them the congratulations of President Nicolás Maduro, “who has closely followed all his achievements”.

Cardillo said that this is just the beginning of a new phase of sporting success for our country. “We are preparing to continue to win victories in the next Bolivarian and Youth Olympic Games,” he added.

For her part, the president of the Venezuelan Olympic Committee (VOC), María Soto, who was also present at the reception, praised the dedication of young athletes and the value of this generation for the country's sporting future.

“We are very proud of these young people who represent the youth we dream of: a youth formed in values, education and passion for sports. You are the seed of our future Olympic champions. Every medal, every smile and every effort fills us with hope and shows that in Venezuela there is talent, discipline and love for the country,” said Soto.

Venezuela won a total of 199 medals, 103 gold, 56 silver and 40 bronze medals to revalidate the title of the last edition held in Caracas, La Guaira and Miranda in 2023.
