This Monday, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, camerlengo of the Vatican, announced the death of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, known worldwide as the Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church.

died at the age of 88, at 7:35am (Vatican time), at his residence in Casa Santa Marta due to “bilateral pneumonia” with “polymicrobial infection”.
“Dear brothers and sisters, with deep regret I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis,” said the camerlengo in a statement, adding that the Holy Father “taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage and universal love, especially for the poorest and most marginalized”.
Recently, Pope Francis approved the canonization of Mother Carmen Rendiles, the first Venezuelan woman to become a saint, and on February 25 he approved the decree for the canonization of the Venezuelan blessed José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros.
