The Ministry of People's Power for Transportation (MPPT) has a 75% execution rate in the pipeline and stabilization of the border fault at kilometer 29 of the El Junquito highway, a strategic road that connects with Colonia Tovar and the state of La Guaira.

Civil work was activated after a fracture was detected in the gutter system that caused the constant filtration of water and the subsequent undermining of the terrain, a situation that jeopardized traffic through this road corridor, the MPPT reported on its website.

He adds that to permanently correct the damage, technical crews execute a flexible structural weight solution by constructing gabion walls.

Regarding the technical maneuvers, the engineer in charge of the work, Manuel Rodríguez, detailed the scope of the implemented solution. “We are applying a solution with a flexible weight element, which is the gabion wall, which involves the application of a significant volume of material to contain the fault caused and protect the road,” he explained.

For her part, the spokeswoman for the Community Council, Sol Loreto, stressed that the community remains active accompanying the work, and also highlighted the timely attention received after the alerts issued by the community.

“We denounced the situation caused and immediately, a response was received, so we are grateful to the Minister of Transportation, Jacqueline Faria, who has had the interest of resolving the situation for the well-being of all,” he said.
