This Sunday, January 12, the Bolivarian Government championed the special bodies of the peasant, community and fishing militia, in order to protect production and defend, together with the authorities, the defense and sovereignty of Venezuelan territory.
At an event at the Caracas Polyhedron, led by the Minister of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Henry Fernández Pereira, guidance was given to more than 11,500 people who have been in the capital city since Friday, after accompanying President Nicolás Maduro in his swearing in.
“They are 4,000 community members, 3,000 peasants, 3,000 fishermen and 1,500 representatives of the Tupamaro Movement,” he said.
The initiative seeks continuity in food production at the national level and takes care of the units that guarantee supply in Venezuela.
In addition, the militiamen were championed to defend the Bolivarian Revolution by detecting any irregularity in coordinated work with the peace quadrants.
“We are going to continue producing to feed our people. We are going to be the backbone of this beautiful revolution that Commander Hugo Chávez left us to continue fighting,” said Tarek Aboaasi, a peasant militiaman.
The event also included the words of William Becerra, a member of the fishing militia, who highlighted the work of the fishing and beekeeping sector in public safety.
For his part, Salvador Leal, representative of the peasant sector, urged to continue with food production despite difficulties.
Henry Noguera, from the Guárico peasant militia, assured that the region will continue to produce constantly to provide food security to the Venezuelan people.
Francis Marques, representative of working women and the fishing militia, also reaffirmed organization and loyalty to the State.
