The Bolivarian Government reaffirmed its
commitment to safeguarding the Venezuelan Intangible Cultural Heritage during
a meeting held last Tuesday between the National Promoting Team of the
Great Mission Viva Venezuela Mi Patria Querida and spokespersons for the cult of San Juan
Bautista from various regions of the country.
According to information from the Ministry
for Culture, initiatives emerged during the activity for the preservation of the
manifestation of San Juan Bautista registered on the UNESCO Lists of Intangible
Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The Minister of Popular Power for
Culture, Ernesto Villegas, announced the addition of the culturist Luisa Pérez
Madriz to the national promotion team of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela Mi Patria
Querida, stressing that this important appointment has the approval
of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
Villegas highlighted the need to establish
relationships that transcend the celebration of demonstrations and are aimed at their preservation.
In this regard, he proposed the creation of
documents and audiovisual products that allow new generations to
know and experience these expressions. In addition, he instructed the completion of a
diploma course on asset protection, given by the National
Experimental University of the Arts (UNEARTE).
The head of Culture said that a national popular consultation will
soon be held for the approval of cultural
projects in the country's 4,500 communal circuits, with the people
being the protagonists of this process.
“That
sets a standard for history and for the world. It is a democratic fact that will
not depend on isolated decisions emanating from
State institutions,” he said and stressed the importance of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela
Mi Patria Querida having a presence in these communities and carrying out
training sessions for the development of projects.
