During the 21st Venezuelan International Book Fair (FILVEN), Rosinés Chávez Rodríguez presented the book “The Boat of Our Unfinished Dreams”, a work that the author began to write in 2013, immersed in a kind of therapeutic project to understand pain due to the physical departure of her father, Commander Hugo Chávez.
In that sense, Chávez Rodríguez said that this book is a gift that unites his family and fellow fighters, in an act of love. “For me, this book is pain, they are dreams fulfilled, dreams to be fulfilled, they are hopes,” he said.
The author stated that the publication of the issue was an idea to commemorate the 70th anniversary of her father's birth in which “I thought about publishing a book with 70 poems and that's where I started, but I preferred to publish most of those writings and we are presenting them in July for his birthday, to remember him, to celebrate”.
As an interesting fact, the origin of the title and cover of the book, the author pointed out that it occurred as a result of an unfinished painting painted with her father during the author's childhood. “The painting works because it's like that, because it doesn't have a single drop of paint left, that's how we left it. And in a photo that was a gift for a birthday, he (Hugo Chávez) wrote to me 'The boat of our unfinished dreams', hence the name of the book, I thought it was ideal because I think it's not necessary to explain much, the words speak for themselves,” he said.
For his part, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, stressed that it is an honor to publicize this collection of poems in one of the spaces created by Hugo Chávez, a fair that is “full of boys and girls, young people, adults, of all ages, professions, occupations, workers, students, intellectuals, writers, who say that Chávez's dream is under construction there”.
