During the press conference where he presented the list of the first 86 candidates of the Simón Bolívar Great Patriotic Pole (GPPSB) parties for the municipal elections of July 27, Diosdado Cabello highlighted the commitment to peace of those proposed by the revolutionary forces.

After noting the importance of peace for the country's economic and social development, the Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) recalled how opposition extremism used spaces of power in municipalities and states to turn them into centers for conspiracy and destabilization.

“Stability is a consequence of peace. Our People must remember how the fascist opposition, which had spaces of power at certain times, turned their municipalities and states into spaces for guarimbas, I give as an example the sick person in Chacao,” he said.

He argued that in addition to the use of these spaces for violence and destabilization, the rulers identified with right-wing extremism had efforts marked by corruption.

“Corrupt like no one else, it's historic! If journalists did a study of all those who built buildings in Chacao and ask who they paid for their building permits, they will tell them that the father of the terrorist, Leopoldo Lopez, sold the permits and did it until recently, because even though he was in Spain he was still doing it,” he reported.

In this regard, he honored the commitment to peace demonstrated by some opposition leaders not identified with extremism in recent years and stressed that the country's stability depends on all Venezuelans.

“After that, some rulers came to serve their terms and did not participate in terrorist acts, they have been governing for the whole world, and that's good because the country's stability doesn't depend only on Chavism, no, they also depend on the opposition sectors,” he emphasized.
