During Con El Mazo Dando's 544th program, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), warned of the consequences of any attempt to attack President Nicolás Maduro and his person, reaffirming the commitment of Chavism to the defense of sovereignty.

“Some people mistakenly dream that if something happens to the president, if something happens to Diosdado, this is over. Is it over? They wouldn't know what they were setting fire to. They have no idea what they would be setting fire to,” he emphasized.

In this regard, he called on revolutionary forces to remain vigilant and to strengthen their response capacity: “This is why we must prepare for active and prolonged resistance.”

Cabello called on the opposition to respect democratic rules and cease calls for violence. “Leave the one who is still quiet. If the opposition wants to govern this country, let it win elections. If he doesn't win elections, we're not going to hand over the presidency to anyone,” he said.

The leader reiterated that the PSUV remains firm in the defense of peace, sovereignty and popular rule, and that any attempt to violate the constitutional order will be answered with unity and determination.
