The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reported that the mayors' and councilors' campaign must be framed under the premise announced by the president, Nicolás Maduro, “more streets and fewer platforms”.
Cabello specified that once the voters have chosen their mayors they must govern for the people, “there are some who forget, that will be a sin, but a very serious one, and that includes deputies, it includes the mayor, it includes governors.”
Regarding the choice of candidates for mayors, he specified that one of the aspects to be taken into account was the fact that the candidate belonged to the municipality.
“It has to be from there, from the place, because people in the communities don't like to be sent to them someone who is from another place, they don't like it, they can accept it also because they are revolutionaries, but we have to make them from there, from the place, born and raised in the place that hurts in its entirety,” he said.
