Venezuelan authorities are working under the conviction that drug trafficking must be combated, said the sector's vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.
“To be honest, we have never been interested in having the United States certify or decertify us (as a country that fights drug trafficking). We work convinced that drug trafficking must be beaten up, that's why we are a nation free from plantations of coca leaves, marijuana or anything like them. There are no laboratories in Venezuela,” he said during a press conference held this Wednesday.
He emphasized that the Revolutionary Government will not let down its guard and will continue in the fight to eradicate the scourge of drugs from our territory. “Nothing and no one is going to stop us, we will continue working to capture all the drugs that are tried to enter Venezuela,” he said.
In this regard, he highlighted that on a daily basis, State Security agencies and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) seize drugs, in smaller or larger stashes.
