The work teams of the Mayor's Office of Caracas are still deployed to serve the affected communities after the rains recorded this Sunday, September 1st and Monday, September 2nd in the country's capital.
This was reported by the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, through her account on the social network Instagram, in which she indicated that at night she took a tour of the city to monitor the work carried out for the care of the people, after the heavy rains.
He explained that in the parish of Santa Teresa, Avenida Sur 4, on the corner of Mamey, he gave way to a mahogany-type tree that affected infrastructure and assured that no person was harmed.
“The teams responded to the contingency, with specialized machinery, and accompanying the community at all times,” he said.
He added that in the Los Laureles sector of Cota 905, in the parish of El Paraíso, the rains caused landslides and to address this situation, a multidisciplinary team was deployed from the Mayor's Office of Caracas, Civil and Hydrological Protection of the Capital Region (HIDROCAPITAL).
Meléndez also reported on the continuity of solid waste collection and road clearance work in the Macarao parish, where an increase in the water level in the Los Angelinos stream was reported on Sunday, leaving material damage.
“Specialized machinery and personnel have remained in place, working together with the community,” he said.
