The National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL), began this Wednesday, January 29, the tender process for the AA' BB' HH' JJ' frequency blocks, managed by the Caracas Stock Exchange (BVC).

This process calls on telecommunications service providers, CONATEL reported through its Instagram account.

The auction is under the supervision of the National Securities Superintendency (SUNAVAL) in an orderly, public and transparent procedure, guaranteed by the BVC's technological solution.

The general director of CONATEL, Jorge Márquez, led the formal opening of the activity that will run until January 30 and stressed that “we are taking a momentous step in telecommunications”.

This initiative, which emerges from the public offer of radio spectrum announced on December 20, 2024, seeks the deployment of networks that optimize communications in accordance with the objectives of connectivity and technological modernization.

On January 9th, those interested in the public offer for the granting of frequency blocks registered the technical, economic and legal requirements to qualify for the auction.

During the process, interested service providers bid for specific frequency blocks that vary in characteristics such as bandwidth and coverage.

In this way, telecommunications service providers (telephony and internet) will have access to spectra that allow them to offer more advanced services.

The conference was attended by the presidents of CANTV, Iván Hernández Dalla; of MOVILNET, Aníbal Briceño; of MOVISTAR, José Luis Rodríguez Zarco; and of DIGITEL, Luis Bernardo Pérez.
