This Wednesday, the National Assembly (AN) in plenary congratulated the 25 Venezuelan athletes who participated in the 17th edition of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Deputy José Gregorio Colmenares (PSUV/Aragua) was responsible for bringing words of recognition to this group of women and men, an example of the country. “Today we celebrate that we are a permanent victory,” he said, referring to the Creole delegation that won six medals and 12 diplomas.

Deputy Colmenares said that “with the national tricolor in our hearts, we want to honor those who have left the name of Venezuela high. These are 25 men and women who gave their all and excelled in each of the disciplines. Effort and dedication fought in the games to be victorious and with gold, silver, bronze medals, records and diplomas,” he said.

The participation of Ender Santos, winner of the gold medal in the 400 flat meters T11; Clara Fuentes, gold and world record in 50 kilograms of weightlifting; and Naibis Morillo, gold medal and Paralympic record in the throwing of the F46 class javelin, stood out.

He also praised the athletes Alejandra Pérez, who won silver in the 200-meter T12 competition; Lisbeli Vera, for winning the silver medal in the 400 flat meters T47, and Marcos Blanco, who won bronze in the men's 60 kilogram category Class J1.

“We have these examples of men and women, all of Venezuela raises its flags and we are proud of each one of them. We celebrate, congratulate and applaud each of these heroines and heroes standing by,” he said.
