The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, this Tuesday, November 11, officially handed over to the National President, Nicolás Maduro, the Law on the Command for the Integral Defense of the Nation.
At an event held in the Salón Sol del Perú in the Miraflores Palace, Rodríguez described the day as a day of transcendental importance for the development of the Republic's new military doctrine, following the ideals and concepts of Commander Hugo Chávez, with the objective of achieving a profound civic-military fusion.
He also explained that the initiative for this law came from the National Executive, led by President Maduro as Commander in Chief, as well as from the Minister of the People's Power of Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, to develop the concepts of the Management Bodies for Integral Defense (ODDI).
He emphasized that the law is framed in a context of permanent aggression against the Venezuelan people by North American imperialism that refuses to accept multipolarity and Venezuela's decision to be a free, independent and sovereign country.
In that sense, he argued that “this is precisely the development of this law that was enacted today, the Command Act for the Integral Defense of the Nation, based on article 326 of our Constitution.”
He also specified that the regulatory body consists of 22 articles. The delivery was made with the presence of deputies from the Defense Commission, the Internal Policy Committee and the Board of Directors of the AN.
