The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted this Monday that former candidate Edmundo González Urrutia went to Spain fleeing the most radical and extreme fascist right, led by María Corina Machado.

During the usual weekly press conference of the red awning, Cabello reiterated that the plan of this political sector was never electoral, highlighting the contradictions of the Spanish Foreign Minister regarding the departure of González Urrutia from Venezuela.

“How does a plane from the Spanish Government of the Air Force get here to Venezuela? (...) It was discussed, he no longer wants to use the term negotiated. Now, Venezuela is respectful of international law and the right to asylum,” Cabello emphasized.

He recalled that the former candidate left for the Embassy of the Netherlands in Venezuela on July 29, one day after the presidential elections. “He says it himself and the Chancellor of the Netherlands says it, and in a letter today he thanks the Netherlands because they welcomed him there since the 29th. His plan was never electoral,” he said.

“The truth is that what Mr. Edmundo González Urrutia is in Spain and he didn't say anything to anyone, he caught them by surprise, no, he didn't care, because if González Urrutia was fleeing from someone he was from the right, from María Corina, from fascism,” stressed the senior leader of the PSUV.
