“Mayors must understand that the best way to govern and the most important thing is to do what the People command and not what a bureaucrat decides from an office,” emphasized the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, during the press conference where he presented the list of the first 86 candidates of the Bolivarian Revolution for the municipal elections of July 27.

The Psuvist leader remarked that governing together with the people guarantees efficiency in the execution of the budget and in managing attention to local needs.

“Yesterday I told the governors in the Q7 Workshop that resources will never be sufficient, and even less so in this time of sanctions, persecution and blockades, and we must be more efficient to yield money (...) and the greatest guarantee of complying with that is to convert resources into works for the People and that the People decide what they want,” he said.

He stressed that the Popular Consultations method is the greatest exercise of real democracy, thus fulfilling the constitutional mandate.

“Consultation is real and true democracy. That is why the dreams of those who want to destroy Venezuela will remain there in dreams, the only thing they aspire to is the power to see how they pay tribute to their masters and do business by setting up their mafias,” he said and ruled that “here the only dream that will be fulfilled is the dream of this people to have a sovereign, prosperous country with a democracy where it is that people who rule and we who occupy positions we obey”.
