The first rescue teams from El Salvador arrived in Venezuelan territory with the firm intention of immediately joining the search work carried out after the earthquakes. This important humanitarian mission is formally integrated with the international effort that is actively developing in the country to respond to the emergency and provide timely assistance to affected communities.

Of the four planes planned to form this humanitarian assistance bridge, the first two aircraft arrived in the country carrying a contingent of 200 rescuers. This multidisciplinary group of specialists is comprised of civil protection officers, firefighters, military personnel and members of various relief bodies trained to deal with disasters.

The incorporation of this technical staff is key to strengthening engineering and rescue operations in the field, where contingency commissions work continuously in collapsed spaces. Central American experts will add their operational capabilities and operational tools to streamline the location of people and optimize the safe removal of large debris.

This deployment consolidates the support network and the international solidarity diplomacy that accompanies the Venezuelan nation during this complex phase of damage mitigation following the earthquakes. Sectorial authorities keep logistics protocols active in air terminals to efficiently receive and coordinate the entry of foreign delegations that respond to the call for cooperation.
