FANB destroyed logistics material for illegal mining in Amazonas

The Strategic Operational Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB), G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported that logistic materials were seized and destroyed for illegal mining in the state of Amazonas.

The senior official specified that the uniformed personnel were on road and area patrol missions in the Atabapo municipality, specifically in an area adjacent to the Carida Indigenous Community, in the sector called Mina Nueva.

At the site, 800 liters of gasoline-type fuel, two 13 HP water suction motors, 30 4” PVC pipes, six meters of 4” maraca hose, six meters of 2” maraca hose, 200 meters of 4” high pressure hose, 50 meters of ½” hose, 100 meters of 2” hose and twenty meters of black canvas were found and destroyed.

“During the operation, all the material and equipment that served as logistical support for the depredation of the environment was destroyed and incinerated because it was of prohibited use in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Criminal Law, violating the legal system and national security and defense. Procedure notified to the Public Prosecutor's Office,” he said.
