This Saturday, January 11, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) issued a statement rejecting the new sanctions “imposed by the infamous imperial brotherhood, today represented by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the Department of the Treasury of the United States of America, together with the European Union and the United Kingdom; this time attacking eleven officials of the Venezuelan State, including our Commander in Chief, the Minister of Popular Power for Defense and members of the Superior General Staff.”

In the letter, the FANB states that “this desperate action, regardless of any rule of international law, was consummated just on the day that citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros, Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, re-elected for the period 2025-2031, takes the oath and legitimate possession of his new term”.

They also point out that “this new onslaught of screams in the dark of imperial puppets is part of the neofascist and coup plans that the Venezuelan extreme right has been carrying out to alter the peace and stability of the country, seeking, through extortive and irrational sanctions, to submit and bow to foreign interests.”

“Faced with this, faithful to our popular, anti-colonialist, anti-oligarchic and anti-imperialist character, and in perfect popular military-police fusion, we confirm our determination to obey the popular mandate expressed on July 28, 2024; at the same time we reiterate unfailing support for the Bolivarian Revolution,” he highlights.

He emphasizes that “the sincerest solidarity goes to all public servants, and especially to those who today are victims of imperial arrogance. No sanction will violate the dignity of the sons and daughters of the United Liberation Army!”.
