The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, held a bilateral meeting this Saturday, January 11, with the fourth vice-president of the National Transitional Council of the Republic of Mali, Hameye Foune Mahalmadane, and the ambassador of Mali in Brasilia, Ibrahima Diallo.

Both officials were sent by the presidency of Mali, for the swearing in of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

In his social media accounts, Gil said that “it fills us with satisfaction to strengthen bilateral ties between our peoples and establish the foundations for a future characterized by multipolarity and solidarity.”

Bilateral relations between the two countries date back to December 24, 1976. Starting in 1999, under the management of Commander Hugo Chávez and currently with President Maduro, ties acquired a strategic level, resulting in the signing of 18 cooperation agreements.
