The president of the Foundation for
Culture and the Arts (FUNDARTE), Adrymar Montilla, highlighted that they have presented more than 60 titles as part
of the development of the XVI Caracas Book Fair,
which was held in the spaces of the National Art Gallery (GAN).
In this regard, Montilla indicated that this
day had more than 350 activities for reading lovers in the
four rooms that were open to the public. In addition, he indicated that 90 presentations were made within the
framework of the fair.
Likewise, during an interview with the Al Aire
program, he highlighted that they have incorporated technology as a means to
reach the public, “because although physical books are preferred by
readers, digital books are also an option for those who choose the digital
age, especially among young people”.
He added that they had more than 100,000
visitors during the Caracas Book Fair and what characterizes this
day is that it incorporates all the elements such as spaces dedicated to
boys, girls, adolescents and entire families. At the same time, he indicated that
a total of 35,000 children have visited these spaces.
Montilla pointed out that the proposal of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, is to attract and make reading more dynamic for young people.
