Genesis Garvett, president of the Great Venezuela Youth Mission, stated that the Monroe doctrine and the policies of the United States Government attack Venezuela because they ignore the force of sovereignty that is being consolidated in the country.
“The reality of Venezuela is committed to the idea of sovereignty and the defense of the homeland,” he said, during the Community Youth March.
Garvett stressed that in every municipality and territory a new leadership is emerging, with young people over the age of 13 who assume political responsibilities and strengthen national identity. According to Garvett, this commitment is the fruit of the seed planted by Commander Hugo Chávez and which today is maintained with the support of President Nicolás Maduro. “It's beautiful to see the new leadership of youth in each of the communes,” he added.
Garvett stressed that democracy is in the heart of the people and that peace is the destiny that young people build as a collective project. “Sovereignty is what we are cultivating in these young people, democracy that is profoundly popular and ours,” he said.
He reiterated that the new generations support President Nicolás Maduro and that, in recent years, they have fought in defense of the nation. For Garvett, these actions are irreversible because they are part of a country project that guarantees continuity and transformation.
