With a capacity of 30 beds, the Internal Medicine Service of the Dr. José María Vargas Hospital in La Guaira was activated, as part of the Health Infrastructure Rehabilitation Plan carried out by the governor of the entity, José Alejandro Terán.
“We are talking about an investment that exceeds approximately 150,000 euros, and which President Nicolás Maduro has made available for the rehabilitation of this service, which has first-class and high-tech equipment; there are already 23 active services in this hospital,” said the coastal governor.
During the day, the Minister of Popular Power for Health, Magaly Gutiérrez; the Single Health Authority of La Guaira, Nelaré Bermúdez; as well as hospital authorities, were present.
“President Nicolás Maduro promotes transformations in the field of health, seeking to improve services through collaborations with BRICOMILES, governments, ministries, FUNDEEH (Foundation for Hospital Buildings and Equipment). Now we are going for the rehabilitation of the delivery room, pediatric intensive care and intensive care for adults,” said Minister Gutiérrez.
The Internal Medicine Service has two wards and a central one for special cases, with specialists in pneumology, infectious diseases, endocrinology and gastroenterology, who were trained in this hospital. This guarantees free care and increased medical care in the Trauma Shock area.
