Governor Luis Caldera reaffirmed his commitment to promote the security and territorial integrity of the country from Zulia and prevent the entry of terrorist violence and Colombian drug trafficking.
“In the midst of this rain, I thank God and humble myself before him and consecrate the land of Zulia to his providence. Today we remember the struggle of the leaders for the emancipation of indigenous peoples, the struggle and the legacy of Bolívar, Urdaneta, Ana María Campos (...) women and men who gave us the Fatherland,” he said.
In this regard, he explained that “today is the day to remember what we learned in these lands, I come from the lands and waters of the Venezuelan Guajira and I come to build a great family in the 21 municipalities and in the 576 communes to begin a great journey that includes history, projects, the Bolivarian ideal and the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez”.
He announced that he will govern from the territory: “from this historic center we have sworn to govern with the people, in a decent way, to restore ethics and morals in public service, I ask you to be your servant from today on. I come to govern for everyone.”
