With the planting of more than 500 native trees in areas affected by forest fires in the Sierra de Perijá, the Bolivarian Government is carrying out the recovery of the area in the state of Zulia.
The action is part of a reforestation day that responds to the efforts of Vertex 2 of the Great Mother Earth Venezuela Mission (Sow for Life), focused on the creation of nurseries and the establishment of trees throughout the national territory, a press release reports.
The initiative included the participation of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC), the Institute for the Control and Conservation of the Lake Maracaibo Basin (ICLAM), the Tree Mission, the government of Zulia and organized communities, in a demonstration of collective commitment to the ecological restoration of the region.
During the day, the commission visited two Popular Self-Government Rooms in the Apón Basin, located in the Perijan Mountains, with the objective of strengthening community participation and promoting shared responsibility in protecting the environment.
These actions reinforce the comprehensive land recovery plan and promote sustainability in the area, according to a MINEC press release
