Guanare boys and girls were enchanted by the school route of the Southern Bookstore

Every week, the Librería del Sur has enchanted dozens of boys and girls from schools with their school route in Guanare, Portuguese state, who come to this space as a meeting point for reading, imagination, play, dramatization and curiosity.

“The experience has been very nice. I have been one of the facilitators and I am thrilled to see how children connect with stories (...) I use a puppet for dramatizations and that captures them. We read stories from the Bookstores of the South catalog and they immerse themselves in adventures, ask questions and even imagine different endings,” said Rosairys Pérez, a bookstore worker.

He also highlighted that the School Route has become one of the most awaited experiences for visitors to the bookstore, a space where every story leaves a mark.

This initiative of the Librería del Sur Foundation was born in 2024 and has been gaining more and more followers. The program offers oral storytelling workshops, dramatized readings, literacy exercises and origami activities that awaken creativity and love for books since childhood.

The route runs twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, and is aimed primarily at basic education students.
