The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ratified this Tuesday the strength of the People and the national Government after 25 weeks of threats from the United States (USA), which maintains an illegal military deployment in the Caribbean to attack the peace of the country and the region.

During the Constituent Congress of the Working Class, the head of state recalled the attacks of which the Constitution of the Republic has been the victim of by the oligarchy and imperialism, such as on April 11 and 12, 2002, when they staged a coup against Commander Hugo Chávez.

“It was our people in the streets by the millions and our military forces, these generals who were older by then, lieutenant colonels, who took to the streets to defend the right to life of the Bolivarian Republic and the constitutionality and democracy of Venezuela,” he recalled.

In this regard, he stressed that “26 years later, inspired, committed under oath to the mandates of this Constitution, we are doing what needs to be done in this historic time”, so he stressed the importance of 27 sectors of the country, “with the working class at the forefront together with peasants, fishermen, women, youth, students, indigenous peoples, grandparents and grandmothers (...) have triggered a process of profound transformations with a constituent popular process that is changing everything”.

He emphasized that this “has allowed us to face this situation of 25 weeks of imperial threats and today to be able to tell the world and our people that we are stronger than ever. Today our people are clearer than ever. Today we are more aware and powerful than before, than yesterday,” he said.
