The president of the
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced
that the Great Venezuela Women's Mission and its working committees will be
strengthened in all the country's communal circuits and communes.
“May it
have feet, arms, minds, hearts. The Great Mission of Venezuela Women
in all communal circuits and their applied vertices: education,
health, recreation, well-being,” said the Head of State this Wednesday afternoon in Cagua, Aragua state.
President Maduro recognized the
leadership of Venezuelan women and placed special emphasis on the
performance and historical role that women have played, stressing that in
the past they were not given their place. “Only the Bolivarian Revolution was able to
protect it and give it the space it deserves in all spheres of
action in the country,” he said.
The governor of the state of Aragua, Joana Sánchez, said that Venezuelan
women have “been taking space in each of the
events of the social life of our country, and this is
undoubtedly due to the strengthening of the Bolivarian Project, which places, in the
first instance, women in the transversal fact of
all the political circumstances of this country.”
For his part, the
minister of popular power for Communes, Social Movements and Urban
Agriculture, Ángel Prado, stated that “communal feminism is a debate that
we have to give to communities and respect for our colleagues.
Let no one think of touching Venezuelan women, because
they know that they are going to defend themselves and we will also be there to
defend them.”
The community leader stressed that Venezuelan women
“from the neighborhood, the countryside, the city emulate our Manuelita Sáenz,
Josefa Camejo, Luisa Cáceres Arismendi. It is the same historic struggle
for the liberation of our peoples, for sovereignty, for national
independence, for respect the dignity of our people”, for
this reason he believes that his sensitivity is the guarantee that the Commune exists in Venezuela.
