The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, proposed that they hold protests around the world with oil, gas and maritime workers against U.S. piracy.
He commented that “the oil working class must, through the International Constituent Commission, defend in international trade union bodies the truth of Venezuela, as well as the right to freedom of trade for the country's main export product, against US piracy that seeks to re-impose the patent of Corsican in the world.”
The Head of State emphasized that piracy must be categorically rejected and that, although at the beginning the message may reach few, over time millions of people will join in raising the slogan.
He detailed that sectors of the Nazi-Fascist right are trying to colonize Venezuela to appropriate its natural resources, including oil, gas and strategic minerals, so it is “necessary to maintain unity and national consciousness in the face of attempts at domination.”
