Héctor Rodríguez: We must resume the system of student coaches

Restoring the system of student trainers, young people who are outstanding in a subject and help other classmates with additional classes, is one of the tasks instructed by Education Minister Héctor Rodríguez.

During a supervision of the Santos Michelena Commercial Technical School, in the San José parish of Caracas, the minister said: “This is a very nice task (...) We have to be supportive, it's not about moving forward alone, but about my partner not being left behind. I remember a very nice thing, when we were studying in high school, the best in the classroom was responsible for those who didn't understand a subject and understood it.”

On the other hand, according to a press release from the Ministry of Education, he confirmed that most schools are already teaching every day, so “the mosaic schedule is becoming less and less”, while reiterating that school enrollment is about to reach 6 million, “but we must reach 7 million, which is what the country needs.”

“You have to increase enrollment, you have to promote solidarity among boys, if you don't go to classes you have to go home to see what happened to you, you have to keep teaching every day and that there is no shortage of teachers,” he said.
