The administration of the Argentine neoliberal president, Javier Milei, registered a significant drop in his popular support, reaching a 35% approval rating according to the June survey conducted by the University of San Andrés (UDESA).
The study reveals that 61% of the population currently disapproves of the president's policies, marking a progressive deterioration in citizen trust in the face of the economic and social results of recent months.
The report highlights a change in the priorities of Argentines, where the lack of employment with 40% and corruption with 34% are positioned as the biggest concerns, displacing inflation to a secondary level. This perception translates into general pessimism, given that 58% of respondents say that the current situation in the country is worse than the previous one, while 43% anticipate a greater economic deterioration in the near future.
Regarding the assessment of political leaders, the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, leads the indicators with a positive image of 38%, surpassing President Milei himself, who records 33%. This weakening scenario in the presidential figure coincides with a significant electoral milestone, with Peronism registering for the first time in months that Peronism reached 25% in voting intention, slightly above the 24% held by La Libertad Avanza.
These data reflect a climate of growing skepticism about the direction of the national administration, complicating the political landscape in the face of upcoming electoral challenges. The combination of negative indicators in the economy and employment suggests that the electorate is shifting their discontent to traditional alternatives, testing the responsiveness and viability of the political project led by the current administration.
