Mayor Meléndez: In 29 days, 13 parishes have been served in coordination with the communities

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, from the Ojo de Agua sector in the Sucre parish, stressed that in 29 days 13 parishes have been served in perfect coordination with the communities.

He said that Caracas will once again have red roofs and its inhabitants will have officials who will work from the territory to provide solutions to needs.

In the Ojo de Agua sector, the Caracas Sonríe Camp was installed, where nearly 23 government entities, in contact with the four communal councils, addressed existing problems in various areas.

In this regard, this Tuesday, July 08, Meléndez said that the communal self-government room, the police module, the room for judges and justices of the peace are left installed.

“We have 29 consecutive days that have been the victory of our people, of perfect coordination with the 23 entities of the State that have come together for this caravan of solutions, for this Operation Caracas Smile, which are active in the camp,” he said.

He assured that it is also planned that a water treatment plant will be installed for each communal circuit and for this purpose the spaces are already being seen.

Regarding the meetings with a representative from each commune, he explained that “we have made some commitments that we are going to fulfill them, because we are with this new method of governance, listening, committing ourselves and complying, that is the instruction of our president”.

The mayor was forceful in stating that the “Mayor's Office of Caracas will no longer return to the offices, and the workers will play their role as guards in the territory”.

In this regard, he specified that 550 workers were deployed in Ojo de Agua to support the people.

“We can say that in about 15 days, we can pass through here and there will be another road that will have a beautiful view, besides that we are recovering the houses with their red roofs, the forests that exist are being recovered on their facades, in the waterproofing. The replacement of roofs, soon we will see with a drone how the roofs are changing. The red roofs are returning to Caracas,” he emphasized.

He pointed out that this is a “twinning by each of the secretariats of the Mayor's Office”, which has allowed community spokespersons to know who the secretary is and who they should call in the search for solutions.
