Mérida: National Surgical Plan has performed more than 7,300 operations

Through the National Surgical Plan, a total of 7,336 operations have been
performed in gynecology, traumatology,
cardiology, urology, ophthalmology, general surgery and pediatric surgery, among others.
According to
information released by the newspaper Última Noticias (UN), the
entity's sole health authority, Moraima Salazar, said that the lives of more than 4,000 patients have
been positively impacted.
It became known that on the last day, the Long Stay Unit (ULE) of the Hospital Universitario de los
Andes, more than 25 pediatric and adult patients in the specialty of otorhinolaryngology were
operated on.
“To date, more than 2,000 elective surgical procedures have been
performed in these operating rooms alone,” said Salazar.
