Minister Godfather: In 2024 we have also won

The Minister of Popular Power for Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López sent a New Year's greeting to the Venezuelan people, assuring that “in 2024 we have also won”.

In a statement, the military leader spoke out on behalf of the women and men who make up the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

“At the dawn of 2025, we contemplate the path taken and appreciate a positive balance of the missions entrusted and achievements achieved; recognizing in each of them, the tenacious effort of an entire united people that has been able to overcome multiple obstacles and adversities at different levels of national life. For this reason, with the satisfaction of their duty fulfilled, the members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces can affirm that in 2024 we have also won, strengthening the supreme values of sovereignty, self-determination and independence; as well as the ethical commitment to continue paying tribute to reunion and national union.

We have kept intact the most pre-eminent achievements of the Bolivarian Project: the Integral Defense of the Homeland; participatory and leading democracy; the popular military police fusion; the monolithic unity of all State institutions; and of course, the peace of the Republic. This victory has been achieved with hard hours of collective work, little time for rest and, in many cases, with the distance from our loved ones. By virtue of so much effort, courage and selflessness, I want to express my sincerest words of recognition, gratitude and congratulations to the entire great Military family, to which we belong with unfathomable pride.

We said goodbye this year imbued with the fire, determination and courage left us by the bicentennial glories of Junín and Ayacucho; and inspired by the stoicism, decorum, discipline and perseverance of our liberators, we will continue to take on the coming challenges that the complex historical time demands of us. May the fighting spirit of the epic days of the emancipatory feat continue to lead us along the path of triumph and glory ! ... May honor and dignity continue to be the permanent compass in the battles we will continue to fight! ... May the Supreme Creator and the Blessed Virgin bless and accompany you always! Happy New Year, beloved People of Venezuela!” , reads the statement.
