The Minister of Popular
Power for Tourism, Leticia Gómez, announced that Venezuela expects to close
2025 with a 35% growth in inbound tourism, with the arrival of
several international flights.
“This figure
confirms that the country is on the right path towards consolidating
its tourism sector as a key actor in the post-rentier economy,”
he said during his speech at the third plenary session held at the
twenty-sixth UN Tourism Assembly, which is taking place in the city of Riyadh (Saudi Arabia),
He also stressed
that this optimism is based on the sustained increase in
international visitors achieved in the last four years, as a result of a strategic
vision and the effectiveness of President Nicolás Maduro
's policies.
In addition, he explained
that this recovery is achieved despite the great challenges imposed by unilateral coercive
measures and the media campaign to discredit the United States
government against Venezuela.
The success of these figures is the result of a promotion strategy and international agreements that position Venezuela as an attractive option. Through the Moscow-Porlamar charter operation, in coordination with Venetur Russia, Pegas Touristik, Hovertours and the Ministry of People's Power for Tourism, more than 5 thousand Russian travelers have arrived in Venezuelan lands.
