As part of the revival of the First
Black Mission, the sectoral vice-president of Political Sovereignty, Security and
Peace, Vladimir Padrino López, handed over the rehabilitated Dr.
Carlos Arvelo Military Hospital, with the purpose of continuing to guarantee the right to free public health.
In this regard, he indicated that among the rehabilitations
and recoveries, the Unit for Non-Invasive Pulmonary Interventional Studies, the Clinical Unit for Hospitalization of Nephrology and
Pulmonology with
30 beds stands out; as well as the equipment of the Pulmonology service.
“We can say that we have the most equipped, presented and prepared
pneumonology service in the entire nation, I can
say it with responsibility, it is here at the Dr. Carlos Arvelo Military Hospital and
for this reason, President Nicolás Maduro proposed it to him by dictating his
guidelines, providing the resources so that all these services, this one in
particular, could be put at the forefront throughout the country,” he said.
In addition, he indicated that
the spaces for chest surgery and general surgery were also recovered with 20 beds and an intermediate care
unit; likewise, the hospitalization
area for junior officers with 23 beds, the professional troop with 33 beds, for
cadets and the dictated troop with 34 beds was equipped.
“We have been in the area of
physical medicine and rehabilitation and that was extremely equipped, very nice, very
prepared, to care for all patients who require it,” he added.
He also recognized the
men and women in white coats who work with the
highest level of professionalism to provide medical care, in the midst of the aggression against
Venezuela.
“They are there saving lives, caring for
lives, with love, conscience, with technology and with professionals,” he said and
recalled that the military hospital opens its doors to all people who
need to be treated.
At the same time, he recalled that it was thanks to Commander Hugo Chávez that the barrier that this hospital would only serve the care of the military family was broken. “Chávez asked us to open the doors of military hospitals to the civilian population, to the people in need, and here the mobility managed is approximately between 65% and 70% of the Venezuelan people and the rest are military personnel,” he said.
