Ministry of Health has fumigated more than 400 schools in Barinas

More than 400 educational institutions in the state of Barinas have been visited and fumigated as part of the deployments carried out by health ministry personnel to combat dengue and prevent vector-borne diseases.

Isis Moreno, Director of Environmental Health at the entity, explained that during the 2025-2026 school year, workshops have been held on campuses, with the purpose of disease prevention, health promotion and vector control, with the elimination and treatment of potential breeding grounds for Aedes larvae and with indoor fumigation.

According to a press release, Moreno highlighted that this action has allowed students, as well as the staff who work there, to guide them on how to avoid dengue fever, with the elimination of mosquito breeding sites, keeping water containers covered, spaces and tanks clean and changing the water in the vases daily.

It also reported that in the Sosa municipality of the llanera entity, educational sessions are being held in communities, for the prevention of diseases, management and use of strategies for disinfecting homes, the use of biological control of rodents through the manufacture and placement of artificial nests for the nesting of the bell owl in cultivation areas.
