The Minister of Health, Magaly Gutiérrez, together with the governor of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán, inaugurated the internal medicine service of the José María Vargas Hospital, completely rehabilitated and equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

The works include air conditioning, modern beds and ergonomic furniture, such as reclining chairs for companions, seeking to ensure decent conditions for patients.

Minister Gutiérrez stressed that this service will reduce congestion in emergencies, which treat around 12,000 monthly cases in the hospital, according to a press release from the ministerial portfolio.

“We are talking about an investment that reflects President Nicolás Maduro's commitment to the health of the people, despite the obstacles of economic war and sanctions,” Gutiérrez said.

The minister announced that other key services will soon be rehabilitated at the hospital, such as traumatology, delivery rooms and intensive care (adult and pediatric), with the aim of optimizing medical care.
