The Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, together with the Minister of Industries and National Production and president of the International Center for Productive Investment (CIIP), Alex Saab, signed a strategic agreement that contemplates the planting of 7,300 hectares of soybeans in the state of Anzoátegui.

The agreement is part of the impetus for the Bolivarian Economic Agenda, whose objective is to diversify domestic production and reduce dependence on imports in the food sector. The incorporation of Latin American capital into the project reinforces regional integration and the consolidation of a productive, sovereign and independent economic model, which is key to the country's growth, the CIIP website reported.

The planting of these 7,300 hectares will contribute to the self-sufficiency of raw materials, to stimulate national agribusiness and generate direct and indirect employment in the productive communities of Anzoátegui.

With this project, Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to agri-food development and the strengthening of national production, to promote the well-being of the population and the move towards a more sustainable and self-sufficient economy.
