This Monday, February 3, the National Art Gallery
(GAN) filled its spaces with songs and faith to celebrate
the traditional Paradura del Niño, also called “robbery and
search for the child”.
A large group of GAN workers
chose two godparents and, with a candle in hand, they toured various spaces to search for
the Child God. The activity included the participation of the traditional music
group “Rondalla Strings and Voices”, which enlivened up the
activity with “Cute Boy”, “Let's Sing Let's Sing”, “Din-din”, “Run Horseback”, “El Burrito Sabanero” and “The Omnipotent”,
bonuses and carols typical of this tradition.
Where is the boy? It was the
recurring question asked by the godparents in search of the Child God, until they found him and took him
back to the manger that welcomes visitors to the institution.
Joy flooded the space and the workers proceeded to make requests,
while singing the “Alma Llanera” hand in hand with La Rondalla.
The head of education specialist at the National Art Gallery, Yoneida Molina, thanked all the workers and attendees for their participation, and defined the activity as a spiritual moment. He also called for keeping tradition alive in community and family.
