National Science, Technology and Innovation Awards 2025 have two new mentions

The 20th Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán National Awards for Science, Technology and Innovation have two new mentions in 2025: Scientific Dissemination and Initiative for the Development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), said the Deputy Minister for the Generation of Scientific Knowledge of the Ministry for Science and Technology, Carmen Virginia Liendo.

“The idea is to promote groups that make visible these contributions in science and technology, which are used as alternatives to solve real problems of the community, of producers,” he explained during an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

In the same way, Liendo recalled that the awards aim to recognize the scientific sector, researchers and innovators who have generated great contributions to the country.

The awards have four categories: National Prize for Science and Technology, National Prize for Popular Technological Inventive Luis Zambrano, National Award for Best Scientific, Technological and Innovation Work and Special Prize for Science and Technology.

Deputy Minister Liendo commented that the call is being made at the national level and in an online format, through the website https://premioscyt.mincyt.gob.ve/.

Referring to the jury for the awards, he indicated that they are professionals, specialists from different research centers and universities. “There are more than 70 jurors,” he emphasized.

Finally, according to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), Liendo highlighted that the call is open from September 10 to October 10 and the results are expected to be announced in November.
