With the patriotic fervor that characterizes the Venezuelan people and the presence of delegations from more than 125 countries, the leader of the Bolivarian project, Nicolás Maduro Moros, was sworn in before the National Assembly as Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the period 2025-2031. This act not only represents a political victory, but also the reaffirmation of the sovereign, anti-imperialist and revolutionary path bequeathed to us by Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez.
A historic act that ratifies popular sovereignty
President Maduro emphasized in his emotional speech that his mandate is not the product of oligarchies or foreign impositions, but of a people that exercises its sovereignty directly, in compliance with the revolutionary Constitution of 1999. This Constitution, born from the heart of the people and defended with blood and effort, remains the shield and sword of the country in the face of imperial attacks and conspiracies of the fascist right.
“This presidential band, made by the humble hands of women from the neighborhoods of Caracas, symbolizes the strength of the president, who will never be subdued by foreign powers or by traitors to the country,” said Maduro forcefully.
The Seven Transformations: The Plan for the New Revolutionary Cycle
During his speech, the President of the town presented the Plan of the Seven Years, a strategic program that will guide the next six years in the construction of a prosperous, sovereign and socialist Venezuela. These transformations encompass all the dimensions necessary to consolidate the Bolivarian project:
1. A productive and diversified economic model: Food, industrial and technological self-sufficiency is prioritized, with the support of allied powers such as China, Russia and India, under an approach that rejects dependence on transnational corporations and neoliberalism.
2. Human cities for good living: Maduro reaffirmed his commitment to transform public services, infrastructure and common spaces to guarantee a dignified and harmonious life for all Venezuelans.
3. Defense and comprehensive security: With the civic-military-police union as a pillar, peace and territorial security will be guaranteed, firmly confronting any imperialist threat or internal conspiracy financed by Colombia and the United States.
4. Justice and social equality: Social missions will continue to be strengthened to heal the wounds of the economic blockade, ensuring housing, health and education for all.
5. Democratization of popular power: Self-government methods will be deepened, promoting direct and active participation of communities in State decisions.
6. Sustainability and green economy: Facing climate change will be a revolutionary priority, with the construction of an ecological economy that respects Mother Earth and promotes alternative energies.
7. Multipolar geopolitics: The Bolivarian Revolution will continue to promote the unity of the peoples of the South through alliances such as the BRICS, ALBA and Petrocaribe, consolidating a multipolar and multicentric world.
The legacy of Bolívar and Chávez lives on
Maduro recalled the lessons of Liberator Simon Bolivar and Commander Hugo Chávez, reaffirming that Venezuela is a nation forged in 500 years of resistance against imperialism. “Bolívar taught us that power emanates from the people, not from the leaders or surnames. Chávez brought that idea to the 21st century, and we, his people, make it a reality,” he said with emotion.
The swearing in was full of symbolism, highlighting the moment when the President received the historic necklace with the key to the ark that holds the Act of Independence of 1811. This gesture represented the historical continuity of the struggle for emancipation and sovereignty.
